We, VI to VIII Compartment of Senthil Public School have organized activities for “Pongal Celebration”on 13.01.2024 (Saturday). Videos related to “Significance & purpose of celebrating Pongal” were shown and following activities were conducted to revel Pongal Celebration.

  • Gramiya Padalgal (Songs related to Pongal and harvesting).
  • Pongal Kavidhaigal.
  • Making Pongal Vazhthu for parents.
  • Pongal drawings
  • Blindfold drawing (Pongal pot with sugarcane).
  1. The main objective of conducting ‘Pongal Celebration’ activities is to create awareness about the virtues of our culture and festive of harvest. As the ‘Thanksgiving festival’, Pongal Celebration goes beyond its agricultural roots and spreads gratitude, prosperity, and the spirit of togetherness among the children.
  2. In this activity, children from all the classes of VI to VIII have enthusiastically participated by involving themselves in all the activities.
  3. Videos about “Pongal celebration, integrated with culture” were shown at last to educate the purpose of celebrating Pongal and to inculcate cultural ethics among the children.
