Senthil Group of School has organized an Interschool Sports and Athletic Meets for Boys and girls were conducted for 2 days on 18/08/2023(Friday) and 19/08/2023(Saturday) respectively. The events took place in the sprawling playground of Senthil Public School, Adhiyamankottai, Dharmapuri. The Shri. P. K. Senthil Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dharmapuri District was the chief guest of the Boys event and Smt. D. Shanthi, District Sports and Youth Welfare Officer, Dharmapuri District was the chief guest of the Girls event.
The events were started with the gorgeous display of March pasts by all three schools with band team. The Chief Guests declared the Athletic Meet open by releasing the pigeons. The events organized were running, relay race, shot put, discus throw, javelin throw, ball throw etc.
Total students of all three schools from Salem SPS, Dharmapuri SPS & Dharmapuri SMS have participated in this grand event.
Total students from SPS, Dharmapuri – 111 in these 56 Girls & 55 Boys. We received 11 Gold medals, 8 Silver medals and 14 Bronze medals for Girls & 7 Gold medals, 10 Silver medals and 13 Bronze medals for Boys.
The students participated with great fervor and manifested their athletic skills with an unimpeachable finesse. Guests witnessed the exciting track and field events of different sports category. The compering team did not miss out any moment to gear up the participants. The wave of excitement coupled with anxiety and nervousness grew as the events proceeded. All parents and students enjoyed the day with utmost enthusiasm by cheering and supporting their team members in a large temporary sitting arena which was constructed in the ground on those days. The winners were honored and awarded by the Chief Guests who had spent their valuable time with our young heroes of the day.
This Meet ended on a high note that ‘Sports is all about playing and competing, enjoying with positive sportsmanship’. The overall championship was won by SENTHIL PUBLIC SCHOOL, SALEM.
