The entire growth and development of youngsters is greatly aided by school activities. It is widely accepted that youngsters have natural skills to effortlessly absorb knowledge. When kids are given access to a caring and stress-free learning environment, their learning potential is maximized. Senthil Public School, Dharmapuri successfully completed its “No Bag Day” on 26th April 2024.

The day started with the orientation of teachers about holiday activities. Next, the first activity “Cooking without fire” was conducted with a view to create awareness about the nutritional value of food cooked without flame , the necessity and advantages of healthy eating and to encourage students to stay away from the junk food.

Through this activity the students learnt the spirit of teamwork, culinary skills, appreciating the hard work put into cooking.  The aim of the activity was also to provide a platform for students to showcase their talent and explore new areas of interest.

The students prepared healthy dishes like mocktails, Avul with sambhar and rasam, Milk peda, fruits and vegetable salads, laddoos, vegetable noodles using mango, Salad, and many more using easy and quick recipes. They served the dishes in an artistic and aesthetic way which was most appealing and the display was a visual treat tickling to the taste buds. The Judges from different categories witnessed their awesome presentation and appreciated their efforts.

The students exhibited their talents in the second activity “Talentina” where they exhibited their hidden talents with plethora of activities ranging from Singing, dancing, mimicry, drama, speech on Tamil and English, puzzles and riddles etc.,They worked in groups and decorated their classroom with wonderful ideas. These activities were organized to explore and encourage creativity in children and offer them a platform to showcase their skills.

The day was a testimony to the school’s commitment to providing a well-rounded education that goes beyond academics, nurturing creativity, collaboration, and practical skills among the students.
